Castle Fever

After a short but pleasant stay in Balmain, we moved our backpacks to Glebe (Are you still following?). Glebe is a suburb in the ‘Inner West’ of Sydney, only 3km from the city centre. Despite that, it feels more like a village. It’s packed with Australia’s traditional terrace houses, all roads are surrounded by trees, and the variety of restaurants, coffee bars and second hand shops is unequaled.

Although we miss the beach, we sure don’t miss the beach mentality (“Have you seen my surf muscles?” “Have you seen how big my boobs are?”). We now live in ‘The Castle, a house with 1 Australian, 2 Italians, 2 Swedes, 1 Venezuelan and, euh, a swimming pool!

There’s always somebody home, there’s always something to do, there are always visitors around, and every now and then it’s road trip time. That’s how we ended up in Wagga Wagga with an old VW van last weekend…
