A week in Balmain

It feels like we’re in a snowball that is rolling and rolling, getting bigger each day. In the Balmain Sailing Club, we met Jacqui. She almost immediately invited us to come live with her and her husband Greg. An offer we couldn’t refuse!

So for a week, we were part of the Murray family. The Murrays live in an awesome wooden house in Balmain, with a fantastic view over the Sydney Harbour. We stayed in their son’s room with its own bathroom, and were – without exaggerating – treated as kings. And even when Sam came back earlier from a 3 month trip to South America, there was no way of us moving out.

We celebrated Jacqui’s 60th anniversary together, and us not being in the family picture was out of the question:

It might not be very different from our own little Belgium here, the Australian hospitality is definitely something we can learn from!
