Thanks to the wonderful people we met on Dangar Island, we got introduced in the Balmain Sailing Club, a bunch of friendly and interesting people who take their boats out every Friday night for a race from Balmain around Cockatoo Island to Sydney’s famous Harbour Bridge.
Because sailing involves a lot of man force, extra crew is always welcome. And so I now know all about skirting sails, pulling sheets, winches, tacking, starboard and port side. And also, who else will bring the beers?
Sailing poshy? No way! There is just no better way to see the city than from a boat…
